This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Quaylo (package net.jjunior.quaylo) handles information. Quaylo is developed and published by J Junior (the "Developer", "we", "us"), the independent studio behind jjunior.net.
The short version: Quaylo is free to play, works offline, and never requires an account. It uses Google AdMob to show ads and Google Firebase to power the daily leaderboard and cloud-saved progress. When you're online, the game signs you in anonymously (no name, no email) and stores your puzzle stats, streaks and solve times under a random ID. You can optionally sign in with Google to back up your progress and move it to a new device. There are no in-app purchases.
1. Who we are
Quaylo is created by J Junior, an independent mobile game developer (jjunior.net). For any privacy question, you can reach us at jjunior.development@gmail.com.
2. What Quaylo does not do
We have intentionally kept the game lean. Quaylo does not:
- require an account — the game is fully playable as a guest and offline;
- ask for your phone number, contacts or precise location;
- run our own analytics or third-party tracking SDKs beyond the services described below;
- offer in-app purchases.
3. Online features & data we collect
Quaylo includes an online layer — the Daily Challenge leaderboard and cloud-saved progress — powered by Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Remote Config). The game stays fully playable offline; when you're connected, anonymous sign-in and cloud save happen automatically.
Authentication
- When online, the app signs you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random anonymous user ID (UID) tied to your installation. No name, email or personal profile is involved.
Data we store (Cloud Firestore)
To make the leaderboard and cloud progress work, we store the following under your UID:
- Daily Challenge results — your solve times, which place you on the day's global leaderboard (one entry per puzzle type per day), and your streak;
- Journey progress — completed levels and stars per puzzle type;
- Gameplay stats and in-game counters — such as remaining energy/hints and feature flags used by the game.
Leaderboard rankings are based on solve times. We do not collect your real name, email address, contacts or location through these features. The app also uses Firebase Remote Config to refresh the daily puzzle pool; this does not involve personal data beyond standard service requests.
4. Optional Google sign-in
You can play Quaylo entirely as a guest. If you choose to tap "Sign in", the app links your Google account to your existing UID through Firebase Authentication, so that:
- your progress is backed up to your account rather than just this installation;
- you can restore your progress on a new device by signing in again (if progress exists on both sides, the better result is kept).
When you link Google, Firebase processes your Google account identifier and the email address associated with it, strictly for authentication. We do not use it for marketing and we do not send you emails. Signing in is always optional and never required to play any mode.
5. Advertising — Google AdMob
Quaylo is free and ad-supported. It uses Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display ads — a capped interstitial and optional rewarded videos (for energy, hints, skips, continues and the daily archive). To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK may collect and use:
- Device identifiers, including the advertising ID;
- IP address;
- Ad interaction data (such as ad views and clicks).
Depending on your consent and region, Google uses this information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This processing is carried out by Google. For details, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Data stored on your device
Some information is saved locally on your device, including your settings, chosen language, current streak and puzzle stats (so the game works offline), plus a cached copy of your cloud data. The app reads your device language locally, only to pick the initial language. You can remove local data at any time by uninstalling the app.
7. Ads & your choices
On first launch, where required (for example in the European Union, the UK and other applicable regions), Quaylo shows Google's UMP / GDPR consent form, so you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. You stay in control:
- Manage or revoke consent through the in-app consent options where the form is available;
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy / Google → Ads);
- Stay a guest — Google sign-in is optional and no personal information is ever required to play.
8. Children
Quaylo is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the game, please contact us and we will work to address it.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the LGPD in Brazil), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can ask us to delete the progress, results and any account link tied to your UID at any time by emailing jjunior.development@gmail.com. If you signed in with Google, you can also revoke Quaylo's access in your Google account settings. For data held by Google for advertising, use the controls in Section 7 and refer to the Google Privacy Policy.
10. Retention & international transfers
Your progress and daily results remain in Firestore until you (or we, at your request) delete them. Locally stored data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Data processed for advertising is retained by Google according to its own policies. Google Firebase and AdMob operate globally, so data may be processed in countries other than your own; these international transfers are handled by Google under the safeguards described in its privacy documentation.
11. Google Play Data Safety
For transparency, this is consistent with our Google Play "Data safety" declaration:
| Data type | Processed by | Purpose | Shared |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anonymous user ID (UID) | Google Firebase | Account management, leaderboard, app functionality | Not shared |
| Google account identifier & email (only if you sign in) | Google Firebase | Authentication, progress backup & sync | Not shared |
